Sonic Seniors

About Sonic Senior

The Sonic Seniors New Horizons Band provides an entry point to music making for adults ages 40 and up. We welcome any ability level including those with no musical experience and those who were active in school music programs but have been inactive for a long time. Many adults would like an opportunity to learn music in a group setting similar to that offered in schools, but the last entry point in most cases was elementary school. We know that for most of the last century, about 15-20 percent of high school students nationally participated in music. From that, we can estimate that at least 80 percent of the adult population needs beginning instruction in order to participate in making music. The Sonic Seniors Band provides that opportunity in Mesa, Arizona.

We are always actively looking for new members and encourage membership at any time during the year. We perform locally to promote the joy of music-making at any age. Sonic Seniors New Horizons Band meets at Ishikawa Elementary in the music room at 2635 N 32nd St, Mesa, AZ 85213 on Mondays, from 2:45pm-4:45pm. Sonic Seniors New Horizons Strings meets at the Historic Irving Building, 155 N. Center Street Mesa, AZ 85201 on Tuesdays 9am-12pm from October – May.

Tuition is $100 per 8 week semester. There will be a Fall and Spring Session.  Checks can be made out to “Sonic Arts”.

Fall Session start date: TBA.

Spring Session start date: None currently scheduled.
